Inspired by the short story "The Bog Girl" by Karen Russel, I drew this as a concept for a full page spread in a magazine. It's designed to invite the reader to read the story, and intrigue them. I did the line art in ink on paper and did color digitally.

Part of my goal too was to create two versions of this illustration. I wanted to version designed for digital viewing, and a version designed to show up well in print. I wanted them to represent the same feeling, but be different in ways that suit their mediums.
Here is the print version of this piece. I wanted it to reflect the needs and strengths of print as a medium, and to be different but in ways that compliment it.
